From a Distance

From a distance, the city set on a hill

Cannot be hid, though from the wine-cellar,

A strange rustling can be heard at the stair.

We’ll send Dylan down to investigate.

If he screams bloody murder, we’ll have to

Revise our opinions, and don chainmail.

What’s all that ballyhoo under the restaurant

Table?  Surely, we can sit still as a family, huh?

If he doesn’t put that hat down within ten

Seconds, I’ll, I’ll -- fumes came out of his ears.

From a distance, the City of Light will

Blow your mind, it’s so beautiful and tall.
