The Silent Windows

Writer's picture: Darkling ThrushesDarkling Thrushes

Between my house and yours there are

The silent windows that reflect,

By light of dawn, by light of eve,

Silent, our faces and glory.

At a lonesome bend in the road,

There is an abandoned-lot

With a chain-link fence, webs,

And a wise bent crab apple-tree.

When September arrives, the sign

Says, Victory Manor will be

Complete, the Garden built by The

Tom's Garden Company 12.

Slated to be cut-down, the bent tree,

It's lonely swing hung and silent,

Replaced with a plastic gym,

Witnessed by the silent windows.
