Both parties signed the tenants’ agreement:
This statement of our debt from each to each,
Was not unclear or vague in what was meant.
After the fury, summer gave my Peach,
The laborer then trampled with his boot,
And all she gave to me is out of reach.
Obeying the law was never your strong suit,
Like children in the field are taught to cry,
The trees in our yard have born their fruit.
Well-versed am I in all that said, ‘Good-bye!’
Nothing’s sad as a poet muted by tears,
Discarded fruits that wither ‘til they die.
